Nvidia (NVDA.US) emphasized on Tuesday and clearly denied the presence of backdoors or switches in its GPUs, warning that such designs would pose significant risks to global digital infrastructure.

In a statement, Nvidia mentioned that adding backdoors or switches in semiconductors would be a gift to hackers and hostile actors, as it would create more vulnerabilities, adding that it would undermine global digital infrastructure and erode trust in US technology.

Nvidia stressed that the so-called 'good' secret backdoors simply do not exist, only dangerous vulnerabilities that need to be eliminated. Product security must always be conducted in the right way, and adding switches to chips would be a permanent defect beyond user control, causing disaster.
